New Bunbury waterfront on the way (August 2007)
Through the waterfront revitalisation, the city
will gain more than five kilometres of new public waterfront, better family
beaches and new facilities for boating, fishing and aquatic activities.
“These facilities will work together to attract many national and international
tourists as well as greatly improving the facilities for the local community and
future generations.”
The waterfront development would generate 3,000 jobs during the building phase
and 7,400 long-term positions, helping to make it Western Australia’s second
largest and most productive regional city.
The project, which is being undertaken by LandCorp on behalf of the State
Government, in partnership with the City of Bunbury, will ultimately transform
the city into a world-class coastal destination.
The new Bunbury waterfront will include a marina, retail and commercial areas,
accommodation and residential developments.
