STATE BOATING COUNCIL TERMS OF REFERENCEObjectives The State Boating Council was the peak representative body in the State for people who take part in boating activities. The Council maintained effective consultative arrangements to facilitate a coordinated approach to the development of boating safety policies and programs. Council provideed a forum for raising issues of common interest to the various recreational boating sectors. Areas addressed Council considered issues affecting the recreational boating community in relation to:
Operation of the Council Council meets on a regular basis, usually bi-monthly. At the discretion of the Council, meetings may be held in a regional area to address local interests. Council may establish working groups to investigate particular issues on a case by case basis. Council may invite other interested individuals or organisations to attend meetings in an observer capacity or to make submissions. Membership of the Council Membership was made up of representatives from major user groups, the Boating Industry.
